PARIS’ Charles de Gaulle Airport

……….the airport equivalent of George Orwell’s “1984”
2

George Orwell’s novel “1984” depicts a dystopian world of nightmares, incompetence and fear. Up is down. 5 + 5 is 9. Black is white. “1984” is alive and well at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). It is as lovely as it is chaotic. Signage directs passengers in circles and a disappearing terminal just happens to be the one you’re looking for. Thousands are in line for passport checks with only two windows open. 2 1/2 hours between flights should be plenty of time to make your connecting flight. Not at CDG and I missed mine. Everyone has their own vision of hell. As a frequent traveler, mine is CDG. As wonderful as the city of Paris is, NEVER transfer flights at CDG. You may end up as a character in “1984”.
