The Vilnius Jewish Ghetto was one of the liveliest and charming areas of the city for centuries. Between 1941 and 1943 it was “liquidated” by the Nazis. Today it has been restored to its old vibrancy and is filled with cafes, galleries, restaurants and nightclubs. The city honors the district’s past with photos and placards so no one will forget.
